Please accept our invitation to U Fleků, a unique brewery and restaurant that is known throughout Prague as one of the most visited Czech national cultural monuments together with such sights as Prague Castle, Vyšehrad, Old Town Square and other sights in the capital.

It is the oldest and most famous public house in Prague and is a pilgrimage site for beer lovers and fans of traditional Czech cuisine. The atmosphere of the old building is also quite something as each lounge has furnishings in a different style – the Big Lounge with its wainscoting, the wooden panelling of the Academy, the Old Czech Lounge decorated with lunette painting by the painter Láda Novák and the old bohemian clocks, the Knights Lounge with its decorated walls or the Cabaret Lounge with its pictures of Czech castles and chateaus.

The beer garden is in the centre of the building and is surrounded by the restaurant so visitors can sit outside on hot summer days enjoying excellent food and drink under the chestnut trees. The garden can seat up to 500 guests making it the largest in Prague.

Apart from good food and drink people also come here for entertainment. The U Fleků Cabaret offers original entertainment for everyone. The programme includes dancers and burlesque with just the right amount of humour. Your guarantee of quality is the fact that the ensemble consists of leading Czech artists under the leadership of Rudi Harden.

The U Fleků Cabaret mingles good food, great beer and excellent entertainment.

The first thing you will find on the menu is the U Fleku 13% black lager. It is only made in this restaurant. It is made using water, hops, 4 types of barley malt and brewers yeast. What really makes this a national gem is that all of the ingredients come from the Czech Republic. Its taste draws in beer lovers from all corners of the world. Thanks to this the restaurant sells 2000 beers a day
Another interesting point about U Fleků are the two cannon balls in the supporting walls, which were left here after the Thirty Years War.

Because of its long past it was decided to open up a brewery museum to celebrate the brewery’s 500th anniversary in 1999. It is in the former malthouse, which lends it its romantic atmosphere.
The exhibition rooms have exhibits of brewing devices, tools and the vats necessary to make beer. During the tour you will also get to know the history of beer making in Prague.

Be sure not to miss a tour of the most interesting part of the museum, the renaissance room where malt was dried. A tour costs just CZK 50 per person. It is only upon arrangement and is limited to 15 people at most.
No matter what the occasion a trip to the U Fleků brewery and restaurant will leave you with plenty of fond memories.
